2021 Emery Awards Ball
For the first time in its 40-year history, Hetrick-Martin Institute (HMI) broke away from its annual Emery Awards traditional gala to produce an interactive live event. Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers in New York City was converted into a fashion runway where four houses battled it out in a voguing competition across four categories throughout the evening. There was also a unique photo exhibit—A Portrait of Kiki—by celebrity and fashion photographer Roger Moenks. The photos featured some of the most important ballroom icons in history and were available for sale as part this important annual fundraiser.
Our challenge was to design, print, fabricate, and install all signage related to the event and the photo exhibit on a tight timeline and very limited budget.

What we did
The Foti Creative Group team donated time and provided materials at cost as a contribution to HMI. We were extremely proud to print and frame the photo exhibit and took special care to select durable materials knowing that this important exhibit would be leaving New York and traveling to other events around the country.
At Foti Creative Group, our core values are diversity, inclusion, integrity, and collaboration. Our work with HMI provided a wonderful opportunity to bring our values to life for this important organization and event.
